These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the FlashPan mobile application ("FlashPan", "the app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use FlashPan.

1. What FlashPan does

FlashPan helps you discover recipes based on ingredients you have on hand. You can take or upload a photo of your ingredients and receive AI-generated recipe suggestions tailored to your dietary preferences and, optionally, your country.

2. Accounts

To use FlashPan you must create an account using an email and password, or sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the app.

3. Tokens and in-app purchases

• Tokens are a consumable virtual item used to access AI features of the app (such as ingredient analysis from photos, recipe generation, and AI chat). Different actions in the app consume different amounts of tokens, and the exact amount consumed by an AI action may depend on the size of the request and response.
• Tokens can be purchased through the App Store or Google Play as in-app purchases. All payments are processed by Apple or Google under their respective terms. We verify each purchase receipt server-side before crediting tokens to your account.
• Tokens have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not transferable between accounts.
• Tokens may also be granted as promotions — for example, a daily reward that eligible accounts can claim once every 24 hours. Promotional tokens are subject to these Terms, may be changed or discontinued at any time, and may be revoked if obtained through abuse (such as mass account creation or circumvention of the cooldown).
• Consumed tokens are non-refundable. Refunds for unused token purchases are handled under the refund policy of the App Store or Google Play; we do not process payments directly and therefore cannot issue refunds ourselves.
• We may change token prices or the amount of tokens required for any feature at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes.

4. AI-generated content

Recipes, ingredient detections, and chat responses produced by FlashPan are generated by AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your particular situation. You are responsible for judging whether a suggested recipe is safe and appropriate for you.

• Allergies & dietary needs. Do not rely on FlashPan for allergen-free, medical, religious, or safety-critical dietary decisions. Always verify ingredients yourself.
• Food safety. Follow standard food-safety practices (cooking temperatures, storage, hygiene). FlashPan does not replace professional advice.
• Ingredient recognition. The AI may misidentify items in a photo. Review the detected ingredient list before cooking.

5. Acceptable use

When using FlashPan, you agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent token balances, purchase verification, or authentication.
• Submit content or images that are illegal, harmful, or infringe on anyone's rights.
• Use the app to generate or obtain content that would violate the terms of our AI provider.
• Abuse free token grants (for example, by mass-creating accounts).

6. Your content

You retain ownership of anything you create in the app (saved recipes, notes, pantry entries). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the app for you. Images you submit for ingredient scanning are processed in transit and not stored.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep FlashPan available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or abuse the service. On termination, your remaining token balance is forfeited.

9. Disclaimers

FlashPan is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlashPan and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Third-party services

FlashPan relies on third-party services including Supabase (backend, authentication, and edge functions), Apple App Store and Google Play (distribution and payments), Apple (Sign in with Apple, where used), and OpenAI (AI model provider for ingredient analysis, recipe generation, and chat). Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of these providers where applicable. We may change our service providers in the future; if we do, we will update our Privacy Policy accordingly.

11a. Intellectual property

FlashPan, including its name, branding, software, and design, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes. No rights are granted to you except those expressly set out in these Terms.

11b. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about FlashPan, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation. This does not grant us any rights to your personal data beyond what is set out in the Privacy Policy.

11c. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply and are not overridden by this clause.
